Designing your website and putting it up for people to see is not as hard as people think it is. In this write-up, i will show you how to design your website in on hour and put it up for your customer to start viewing.
There are various software’s to design website on line which are open source software. Open source means they are free to be used by anybody provided you can find your way around it. In the open source library, we have WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and lots more but for the purpose of this write-up we are going to adopt Joomla which I think is the best for website. WordPress is likewise good but originally WordPress was made for designing blog it was later that it was updated for website design.
Joomla is an open source software with a lot of gig running the projects, it has a large following and support system which makes it a very good option for website designing. Before you start, you must look for a good host company to host your website. I will not recommend one because i know you can do that yourself. When you get a good host company the next step is to search if the domain name you want to use is available and if the name is available then lucky you. You buy and register the domain name after which you will be sent the username and password for your cPanel.
Note, if you don’t want to go through the steps above you can start the step on your local computer if you have a server installed on your local computer after which when you are done you can now transfer to a live server. When you login in into your cPanel you will look for where it is written softaculous, from there you have various software to download. Just look for Joomla and download the latest version. Fill all the detail there and click download at the bottom and Joomla will be downloaded on your server. When you browse your domain name i.e. www.yoursite.com you will see that your site is almost ready.
The site will be there by default what is left is for you to customize it to your own taste. In filling your details in the cPanel you must have filled your username and password to the administrator area. When you login to the administrator area with your user name and password you are good to go. If you do the above you will be told by the system how to login to the administrator area. I skipped that for security purpose.
The next step is for you to start creating your Categories, Articles and Menus. Practice this step and join me in the part 2 of the write-up. If you want to know more about how to do it first on you local server, you can contact me for the training. Video training is available so you can learn at your own pace. Please feel free to ask any question by commenting on the post and we will reply you as soon as possible.
